Just because you can’t see how God manages tomorrow, doesn’t mean it is rational for you to snatch tomorrow (and today) from God’s hands.

Look around you. The message of the Incarnation is demonstrated in nearly everything you can see.

My desire is to live my conviction consistently, i.e. thoroughly converted.

I recently heard a wonderful sermon, filled with exemplary theology, and four or five declarations of spiritual truth. But for each theological truth declared, the speaker leveled derision regarding the struggle to implement the truth into real practice.

I only want to know enough to get me by.

Any turn that is by divine definition a yielding of willfulness, is by definition a sufficient turn for God to seize upon His opportunity.

I have returned to the observation attributed to St. Francis of Assisi. “We are called to be witnesses for Christ, and every so often we must use words.”

What does Christianity truly teach and believe about injustice, inequality, race, difference, and other social questions?

What of truth can be known, and is there any such thing as absolute truth, that is, truth without doubt or question?

Will I be responsible for today, given the great resourcefulness of my talents and ingenuity, or will I rely upon the indwelling resource of Jesus Christ?

Other animal beings suffer and struggle to live, but human beings are the only ones that ask, “Why?”

Scientific methodology wasn’t accepted practice until at least the sixteenth century.

The most frequent critique of faith is that it can’t be proven. So? Nothing else is either unless you live in a laboratory and are a rat.

To assert that science and faith are mutually exclusive is naïve.

Just because a whole bunch of people disparage faith, that doesn’t make them right.

There is no great leap. This is a reasonable degree of faith.

I awoke this morning with you and this poem converging at the top of my list of priorities for the day.

“Preston, you took a leap of faith; I took a leap of unfaith.”

I was stunned that nothing concerning us in 2014 needed to be edited for relevance in 2016. 

Your new heart sings the same song, and dances to the same step, as your Heavenly Father’s heart does.
