The intriguing thing about identity is how tempting it can be to define who you are by all we have discussed and fail to consider the opinion of God, the architect of your soul. I wonder what His opinion is of who you are? 

The alligator turned, followed, swimming after my fly. I kept retrieving. The gator’s speed increased, creating a wake. 

It is hard for me to embrace one man’s development while a few million others suffer and die. 

I would have instructed Jesus to heal the crippled guy rather than walking past him en route to worship.

Do you realize that while God was devoting His energies to craft Moses’ character, an entire generation of Israel died in Egypt doing hard labor? 

You were created to connect with God and represent His life in and through you.

I realize that a financial report to the directors is a different discussion than a Bible study. But trusting that God’s Spirit is living through you to accomplish what’s on His mind is just as valid a ministry in the boardroom as it is in the Bible study.

Your profession is what you get paid to do. Your calling is what you were made to do.

God does not claim to be incrementally present one moment and absent the next. He claims to be constant right now.

Periodically, Wade writes a blog. There are a few posts that take you into the labyrinthine hallways of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, but every post takes you to another place--a profound place--only the soul of Wade can go. 

Without vision and revelation we do not have the necessary elements to be focused, healthy people.

Rather than go with the flow, I tend to push, calculate, ponder, and ask lots of questions. I tend to innovate and improvise. If an impediment can’t be streamlined, I want to know why. 

Paul was about thirty when he became a follower of Jesus Christ. He was forty-three or four when he began his ministry and he was murdered for his faith nineteen years later. This means that Paul spent about thirty percent of his ministry life locked up in jail.

I utter, mutter, or implore “why” more than any other word in my vocabulary. 

It would be petty of God to cast you aside over a small sin—something piddly, like losing your temper and stewing with frustration when the pasta boils over. But what about a larger sin, or a big sin? 

Snake heads raised from the coils, cocked to strike. Tongues flicked and rattles buzzed, “Don’t tread on me!”

Marketing—selling, convincing, etc.—is often shied away from in Christian circles. We feel like it is less than spiritual. But the reality is, the Scriptures exhort us to be marketers.

Your relationship with God is as secure as Jesus’ relationship is with God. 

The approach of “buy this, right now” is pressured and fearful. It leaves little room for interaction and negotiation. 

One word. Translated into three. Carrying the combined weight, genius, and remarkable life of Jesus Christ.
