Interview with Lucifer (1 of 3)
Lucifer, thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to visit with me. I don’t suppose there is anyone more qualified to discuss the topic of deceit and deception than you are. But before we begin our discussion of that topic, how did you get into this field?
The What and How of Jesus
The complexity of Jesus’ claim is significant, not just for mankind, but for Jesus as well. He loves us all and desires for everyone to live with Him throughout eternity. But if He is the only way to this eternal place everyone wants to go, and there are people who have not heard the plan of salvation from Scripture who will be eternally rejected, how does He legitimately maintain a loving and just character?
The Creativity of Jesus' Redemption
The farther across the spectrum of humanity I move, the less I understand and the more questions I have to explore. When I move all the way to the end of the spectrum where the guy with the bow is shooting at airplanes, I’m virtually clueless about what’s transpiring with regard to his faith in the unknown deity of Jesus Christ.
The How of Jesus
We have yet to contemplate how God does what He does in Christ. That Jesus is the only way to God is clear in the Bible. How He is the way is not as clear.
The What of Jesus
With that final question the proverbial line in the sand is drawn. Either the guy in the loin cloth is bound for hell or God didn’t really mean Jesus was on the only way—which then means the Bible is metaphorical myth. These are not good options.
The Decision
You would like to believe thinking people would abandon a sinking ship full of spiritual holes. You would think, but such is not the case.
The Decision is Moral
When it comes to spiritual matters, making a decision for God involves more than giving mental assent to the idea.
The Decision and Intellect
Jesus is just as obvious as Caesar, Alexander, Henry VIII, or Lincoln. But the apologetics of Christianity are not sufficient to create salvation.
Purpose: Why am I here?
Jesus’ one command was, “You shall love the Lord your God. This is the great and foremost commandment.”
True Purpose
Jesus issued several imperatives. But when the religious leaders asked him to pinpoint a command, he isolated the most important truth in the Bible: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart.
Where I Am
I'm pretty certain my keyed colleague is free of what ails it, but I've not written for the same reason I wouldn't kiss you if I had a cold.
Know Versus Know
If the Galatians so clearly understood that they could not be justified by the law, i.e. with human effort, why were they persisting to live according to the Mosaic Law and religious law?
Knowing Grace
Anyone that doesn’t look right, walk right, speak right, act right, live right, dress right, sing right—oy vey! Anyone or anything that doesn’t fit, we are prone to manage with rules and standards of performance that we believe will make God happier, because if we can manage behavior, we will be happier (we think). Certainly the same must be true of God, we reason.
Knowing Law
The reason Paul is so peeved is that the Galatian Christians had departed from sound theology, i.e. the sufficiency of Christ, and were attempting to amalgamate human effort and divine provision.
Knowing God
The first “know” is a process. The second “know” conveys a knowing that is entirely completed and fully understood.
Between Christmas and New Year 2015
I took time away several weeks ago to plan, and pray, and gain fresh perspective. I've been diligently preparing since for launching into 2016 with fresh goals and fewer outstanding accounts inside my soul's bank. I'm lighter in side of me.
They Left Heaven
On that first Christmas, angels by the myriads and thousands trekked from heaven to earth to worship God incarnate
How Much is Jesus Worth?
When Jesus announced His intention to the angels surrounding His throne, surely someone must have said, “What are you thinking?! This is lunacy.
