Either sadly or advantageously we live in a world of double-dealing. On all sides. It’s what James Carville called, “spin.”

Be cautious what you attribute to God. Simplistic God-statements inside complex circumstances compromise the true cause of God.

And we were—and are—raised with Him “in the likeness of His resurrection.” Christ lives! And because He lives, you live, I live.

We are currently being nasty to one another and getting absolutely nowhere except deeper into the divide.

What would happen if we stopped? If you stopped? If I stopped?

A nation is not divided over night. It is separated over time as fissures breach and split.

Do you feel it? There is no peace, no resolution, no consensus.

If we live and move and exist in Him, then God is engaged in every aspect of life.

"What do you do for a living?"

"I murder babies, all day long, and I do so legally. It's part of a woman's health, you understand. Our leaders in DC determined it to be so."

Because the people thinking about politics are the same people passing laws that make killing a baby legal, I don't have the luxury of assessing their politics.

A cold civil war is better than a hot civil war, but it is not a good situation for a country to be in.

Killing babies is not a political perspective. It is a human issue.

Socialism puts forward the idea that we will all be better off if we are equal. It sounds like a good plan, ideal, even Christian

Look around you. The message of the Incarnation is demonstrated in nearly everything you can see.

My desire is to live my conviction consistently, i.e. thoroughly converted.

The question now in God’s mind is, How can I prove to my people that salvation and justification have changed them fundamentally, transformed them at their core?

I recently heard a wonderful sermon, filled with exemplary theology, and four or five declarations of spiritual truth. But for each theological truth declared, the speaker leveled derision regarding the struggle to implement the truth into real practice.

The governance of shame is meted out in ruthless self-criticism, condemnation, ranting, raving, self-cursing, and condescension.

I only want to know enough to get me by.

Any turn that is by divine definition a yielding of willfulness, is by definition a sufficient turn for God to seize upon His opportunity.

I have returned to the observation attributed to St. Francis of Assisi. “We are called to be witnesses for Christ, and every so often we must use words.”
